We require at least two days (48 hours) notice of cancellation prior to the reserved check-in date. Holidays & special event weekends require three days (72 hours) notice of cancellation prior to the reserved check-in date. Failure to provide the minimum cancellation notice will result in a one-night charge.

Check-in is between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. We must be notified in advance if you would like to request a different check-in time. Check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Any late check-outs must be approved by the dockmaster ahead of time.

Check-in upon arrival is required at our front office.

We only guarantee a slip to accommodate the length overall, beam, and draft of your vessel that is put on file, and indicated on your invoice/confirmation email. It is the vessel’s owner or representative’s responsibility to ensure the correct dimensions of the vessel, including any and all attached equipment such as the pulpit, bowsprit, swim platform, dinghy with/without davits, etc.

Although we attempt to accommodate all special requests, we do not guarantee particular slip assignments.

The town of St. Michaels has a noise ordinance in effect from 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. that must be followed at the marina.

Boats shall not be left unattended overnight unless the office is first advised of and approves of such intention.

You must clean up after all pets. Pets should be curbed in Muskrat Park, located 0.1 mile away from the marina. Take Carpenter Street up to the first stop sign, then turn left onto Locust Street. Continue until the end of the street, and Muskrat Park will be straight ahead.

Pets must be on a leash at all times.

The property of the Log Canoe Inn, located beside the marina of Higgins Yacht Yard, Inc., is solely for the use of the guests staying overnight at the inn, and not for the use of the marina guests.

Swimming and diving are not permitted from the docks at any time.

Laundry is not permitted to be hung from any vessel nor docks.

Heads should not be pumped out while the boat is at the dock.

All vessels must be adequately insured.

No open fires are permitted on or near the docks.

The marina reserves the right to limit the number of slip holder’s guests on the premises.

Higgins Yacht Yard, Inc. is not liable for the care nor protection of your vessel, nor its gear, equipment, contents, etc., nor any loss nor damage. whatever kind or nature, to your vessel, nor its gear, equipment, contents, etc.

You, as the vessel owner or representative, indemnify and hold Higgins Yacht Yard, Inc. harmless against any loss, costs, suits, and/or claims, arising out of use of pier space, and of any handling of the boat in connection therewith.

Should any marina guest conduct themselves in a disorderly, dangerous, or improper manner, that could cause injury, damage, or harm to any person, property, or reputation of the business, or fails to comply or agree to the above terms, Higgins Yacht Yard, Inc. reserves the right to have the vessel owner remove his vessel immediately from the marina without refund.
