Luxury Resorts & Hotels recently completed the final phase of the two-part renovation of Pier Sixty-Six Marina along the Intercoastal Waterway (ICW) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida — a destination also known as the Yachting Capital of the World. The $20 million renovations were finished just in time for the 55th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat show this past October, which attracts thousands of active boaters to the area. “With the new layout and upgrades, we can now host three times more large yachts than before,” says Kevin Quirk, Luxury Resorts CEO, “which also benefits the local businesses that provide services to these vessels.”

Pier Sixty-Six Marina opened in the 1950s as a fuel dock for the Phillips 66 Petroleum Company, serving boaters cruising up and down the ICW and the Atlantic Ocean. today, with new Marinetek floating docks that add 3,600 feet of parallel dockage along the Mercedes river and Marion Canal, the deep-water marina has capacity for 127 yachts. New bulkheads by shoreline Foundation and eco Building solution were also installed, along with an electrical infrastructure that increases the electrical capacity to 480-volt 400- to 600-amp, three-phase power for mega-yachts. There’s a just-completed marina office and captain’s club room, and two onsite restaurants — Grille 66 & Bar and Pelican Landing — have been fully renovated.

The facility can accommodate vessels up to 350 feet with a 17-foot draft. Pier Sixty-Six amenities include cableTV with HBO, high-speed WiFi, laundry facilities, crew showers, valet and dry-cleaning services, two tennis courts, and 24-hour onsite security. There are high-speed diesel and gas pumps and a store that is open seven days a week.

Guests can take advantage of the three oasis swimming pools and the Orchids Pool Bar, which serves poolside salads, sandwiches, and tropical drinks. For dinner, stop by Grill 66 & Bar for the finest steaks in Fort Lauderdale, or keep it casual at the waterside Pelican Landing. For pre-dinner drinks, The Lounge is the perfect spot for creative cocktails. start your morning with Mariners’ expansive breakfast buffet.
