How long have you been involved in the marine industry?
Since 1999.
If you were not doing this, what job would best suit you?
I would love to teach literature.
Have you always lived in Florida? If so, what locations?
I moved quite a bit in my life. I was born in Massachusetts, and I lived in Maine and Brazil. I have resided in South Florida for the past 19 years.
What do you like to do on your time off?
Watch soccer and spend as much time as possible with my family.
Describe yourself in three words.
Determined, passionate and fair.
What is your favorite thing about work? Least favorite?
Getting to know different people from around the world on a daily basis is my favorite thing. My least favorite is preparing for a hurricane, having to evacuate and leaving behind so much uncertainty.
Where is your favorite place to visit by boat?
I have two favorite locations: Cape Cod, MA and Niteroi, Brazil.
What would your marina staff members say is your best quality?
Being a fair person.
If you ever owned a boat, what would you name it?
Mery Lucy (my wife’s name).
What is one of your favorite events hosted by the marina?
Without a doubt, Vintage Weekend. We invite antique yachts, aircraft and automobiles to Ocean Reef.
