How did you get into the marina business?
I was literally hired off an adjacent golf course. I was a supervisor there and they needed someone to take over as boss at the marina. I have always been a boss, starting with big road and construction in New Jersey. I moved down to Myrtle Beach in 2005 and the marina opened in 2006.
If you could choose the perfect job for your personality, what would it be?
It would have to be sales. My sister told me a long time ago that I have a silver tongue and “it’s time you used your mouth to make money instead of getting into trouble.”
In one sentence, what is your best tip for a new boater?
Approach anything as fast as you want to hit it … the slow way is the best way.
What is your favorite beverage?
Caffeine-free Pepsi.
If someone wrote a book about your life, what would it be called?
“The Life and Times of Bill William.”
What actor would you choose to play you in a movie?
Robin Williams. I’m crazy like that and love to make people laugh.
If you were trapped on a deserted island, what three things would you like to have with you?
My wife, my cat and caffeine-free Pepsi.
What is the last movie you have seen?
At the theater, “Saving Private Ryan.” I don’t get to the theater much. At home, “The Unforgiven.” I love Clint Eastwood movies.
What do you hope to be doing five years from now?
Retired and spending time with my grandchildren.
Five months from now?
Right here at the marina, busy finding slips for boaters.
Five minutes from now?
Having lunch.

“Dawn” by the Four Seasons.
What is the funniest thing that happened to you this month?
I bought a new car for my birthday with a push button starter, and I keep trying to turn it off with the key.

No, I hate the sight of needles.
