Product Spotlight

Shimano Calcutta Conquest – New for 2015, Shimano’s Calcutta Conquest series features four models in two sizes including a left-hand retrieve version.  Each features Shimano’s ‘S Compact Body Design,’ Micro Module Gear technology, SVS Infinity and Shimano Stable Spool Design (S3D).  These reels are all about durability, smooth rotation and rigidity and offer a cold-forged frame while the S3D technology reduces spool vibration for better casting performance and overall feel.  Shimano’s SVS Infinity brake system controls spool speed for precision casting while an external adjustment knob provides quick, precise adjustments.  A torque limiting levelwind will stop the levelwind if fingers or debris gets stuck in its path and prevent any gear breakage or even possible angler injury.  The small 100 and 101 models weigh 7.5-ounces, have 5.2:1 gear ratios, and can handle 115-yards of 20-pound test PowerPro braid. The larger 200 and 201 models weigh 8.4-ounces, have 4.8:1 gear ratios, and can handle 190-yards of 30-pound test PowerPro braid. All four reels retrieve in more than 23-inches of line per crank.  Contact: Shimano at 877-577-0600 or visit fish.shimano.com.
