Marina Updates
31st Street Marina — The 31st Street Marina in downtown Chicago has a new floating swimming pool. Bellingham Marine was hired by Westrec to design and create the 85-foot-by-40 foot floating platform, which includes a swimming pool, sundeck and restroom facility. The heated chlorinated pool is free to boaters docked at the marina and is open to the public for a small fee.
Sandpiper Bay Marina — at Club Med located in Port St. Lucie on Florida’s East Coast, has undergone extensive renovations and enhancements. The 60-slip marina offers both diesel and gasoline along with newly improved docks, a new captain’s lounge and marina office. Marina guests and slip-holders are allowed full access to all of the amenities at Club Med including the 3 swimming pools, an 18-hole golf course, 8 sand volleyball courts, a fitness center, 6 tennis courts and restaurants.
Faro Blanco — Faro Blanco Resort & Yacht Club in Marathon, in the Florida Keys is expected to open in early 2015. The iconic lighthouse landmark has been drawing visitors to the areas since the 1950s and now offers a hotel: Hyatt Place, a full-service marina and yacht club, restaurant and bar. Faro Blanco Yacht Club & Marina is easily accessible to the Atlantic Ocean and Moser Channel while offering 74 slips for vessels up to 120 feet, fuel services, a pump out, 24-hour security, concierge services, a swimming pool, a fitness center and more.
