The Brewer Yacht Yards name is very well-known in the New England area, with 22 first-class marinas offering state-of-theart service yard facilities in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Maine. In January this year, Brewer purchased their 23rd yard: Brewer Oxford Boat Yard & Marina in Oxford, on Maryland’s eastern shore. “We extended our operations further south to accommodate our existing customers who travel the east coast each year, and to gain new friends in the Chesapeake Bay area,” says Rives Potts, President of the Brewer Yacht Yard Group. Let’s take a closer look at their latest acquisition, and two of their  other great summer destinations!

BREWER OXFORD BOAT YARD & MARINA, OXFORD, MD.

Located at the heart of the Chesapeake Bay in the charming historic port of Oxford, Brewer Oxford Boat Yard & Marina offers 152 slips and can accommodate vessels up to 100 feet. The onsite full-service repair yard features a 75-ton travel lift, 35-ton hydraulic trailer, and specializes in major refits for both power and sail vessels. Guests can enjoy the pool, party patio with covered seating, BBQ grills, picnic tables, and bike and car rentals. The town is just a short walk away and has a store for basic provisioning and many great dining options, from the causal deck at Schooner’s Landing to fine dining at the historic Robert Morris Inn.

BREWER SAKONNET MARINA, PORTSMOUTH, R.I.

Set on the scenic Sakonnet River on the northern tip of Aquidneck Island in Portsmouth, Brewer Sakonnet Marina is easily accessible from nearby ports such as Newport, Block Island, and Cuttyhunk. The onsite full-service yacht center has 320 slips and is known for its ex- ceptional repair services. Among the amenities are a laundry service, waterfront pool, hot tub, playground, pump-out services, and transportation to area restaurants. Guests can enjoy a game of beach volleyball while taking in the panoramic river views.

BREWER BRUCE & JOHNSON’S MARINA, BRADFORD, CONN.

Tucked safely in the town of Branford on the Long Island Sound is Brewer Bruce & Johnson’s Marina. The marina offers 600 secure slips and moorings and can accommodate vessels up to 65 feet on both sides of the scenic Bradford River. Amenities include a fuel dock, pump-out station, and floating docks with electricity, water, and free WiFi. Relax by the pool, indulge in a game of bocce, or stop by the on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner. The full-service repair yard is open year round. This summer, the marina has planned a full roster of activities such as concerts, informational workshops, rendezvous, parties, and fishing tournaments. The Thimble Islands, a great spot for hiking and kayaking, are just three miles away. Whether you’re cruising the Chesapeake Bay, the Narragansett Bay, or Long Island Sound, tie up at one of the Brewer Yacht Yards marinas for a fun-filled getaway or a service re-provisioning layover.
