As exciting changes are on the horizon for Baltimore, along with War Horse Cities’ recently acquired Baltimore Marine Centers, locally known as the BMC marina portfolio. With almost 800 slips, the conglomeration of BMC marine facilities are situated in premier locations within proximity to the city’s coveted Inner Harbor.
Adjacent to some of downtown Baltimore’s top attractions, BMC at Inner Harbor is one of the most sought-after marinas in the city. An on-site fuel dock, award-winning seafood restaurant and upgraded state-of-the-art concrete floating docks are just a few of the many amenities that cruisers appreciate while in port.
An additional marina within the 16-entity portfolio in the beloved Canton neighborhood, BMC at Lighthouse Point hosts a resort-style swimming pool and hot tub, a modern health club and access to some of the city’s finest dining and dynamic night life.
In addition to both wet slips and dry storage, the acquisition also includes office and retail space, a heliport and marine fueling and service.
Committed to supporting and amplifying vibrant urban communities, War Horse Cities founder Scott Plank recognizes the importance of an active waterfront community in Baltimore. As War Horse Cities’ specialties range from real estate and hospitality to investing and philanthropy, the acquisition of the BMC portfolio seemed to make perfect sense to the real estate development firm.
“Acquiring this marina portfolio was really important for us,” notes Plank. “There is so much to do on the Baltimore waterfront, but it’s not always easy for the customer to access all of these offerings. Through the acquisition, War Horse Cities can now connect customers by land, sea and air, which farther drives our goal to increase economic impact and promote Baltimore as a destination for all types of boaters and visitors to enjoy.”
While War Horse Cities plans to devote this boating season to understand- ing BMC’s core customers’ needs, the firm has already made considerable upgrades to enhance the customer experience. Revamped Wi-Fi, improved dock security and a new high-speed fueling station round out the list of improvements initiated thus far among the facilities.
With an ultimate vision to strengthen the Baltimore waterfront and create philanthropic initiatives for long-term impact, War Horse Cities plans to combine first-rate customer service, top-notch amenities and superlative hospitality to curate a set of pre-eminent urban resorts that make up the Baltimore Marine Centers.
